| Solvang wineries Last summer on my birthday I was up north and decided to visit Solvang, and Los Olivos' wineries. My first stop was Lucas & Lewellen's tasting room in Solvang...what a treat! I was greeted and entertained by the hostess there and considering it was my birthday, she poured me some aged port in a chocolate shot glass for me...yum!  The hostess there was very friendly and she gives a hefty pour too!   If you visit their tasting room, and purchase a tasting...they give you a half off discount at their sister- tasting room down the street at Mandolina! Mandolina specialize in Italian wines.  They have a nice setting, and a beautiful selection of light wines to enjoy your sunny day.  After these two, I proceeded to Los Olivos!    I went to three tasting rooms here, and even visited the restaurant featured in the movie "Sideways" and viewed the huge wine selection there!  I ended my day with some creme' brulee (my favorite dessert!) and paired it with a fruity Riesling (my favorite wine!).  On to the next! |
